I read the Health Care Plans so you don't have to

Tue Dec 11, 2007 at 04:50:54 PM PDT

I'm going to compare the health care plans of Clinton, Edwards and Obama here. There's been much discussion about this issue so I printed off the pdf's from Edwards and Obama and printed the outline from Clinton's website.

First off, they all concede that we have a terrible health care delivery system in the country right now. I think all of us here would agree with that.

Now, onto the differences and similarities of each candidate's plan.

New Georgia Poll Numbers

Fri Jul 14, 2006 at 01:12:45 PM PDT

New poll numbers are out from Insider Advantage. While, it's interesting to look at these poll numbers, I'm not sure how accurate IA has been in the past.

The poll was conducted July 12-13, 2006. Sample size - 500 likely Democratic primary voters. Weighted for age, race and gender. Margin of error plus/minus 4 percent

Gay Marriage Ban overturned in GA

Tue May 16, 2006 at 06:45:56 PM PDT

A fulton county superior court judge ruled the "gay marriage amendment" that voters approved in 2004 unconstitutional.

In her order, Judge Constance Russell wrote that the constitutional amendment violates the state's "single-subject rule" in that it asked voters to decide on multiple issues in a single amendment. Russell sided with critics and others who challenged the amendment on the grounds that it addressed not only same-sex marriage, but also civil unions.

How did you find Kos?

Fri Dec 09, 2005 at 12:24:50 PM PDT

The front page post on the new guest bloggers brought back some very old memories, old at least for the blogging world.

Four years ago I was kind of lost in a political netherworld. I had very few people to discuss what was going on in the political world and mostly kept my thoughts to myself.

Anyhow, I came to find blogs in a very roundabout way.

Let's Revisit the Support for Roe v. Wade.

Mon Oct 31, 2005 at 07:47:32 AM PDT

According to the latest (Sep) poll done by SUSA the following states support overturning Roe v. Wade:
AL, AK, ID, IN, KY, LA, MS, MO, OK, TN, UT and WV.

The following states that Jr. carried in 2004 DO NOT support overturning Roe v. Wade: AK, AZ, CO, FL, GA, IA, KS, MT, NE, NV, NM, NC, OH, SC, TX, VA and WY.

Can you imagine what would have happened if Jr. had come right out and said that he wanted to overturn Roe v. Wade in the last election? Perhaps, he would have carried about 15 states nationwide. I guess that's why he constantly used code words to conceal his real desire.

I lost it!

Thu Sep 29, 2005 at 08:07:09 AM PDT

Yes, guys, I lost it right there in the grocery store check out lane.

I was standing in the check out lane getting ready to pay for my groceries when the bag boy starts talking about how W. is the greatest President ever. I said that he's great if you like being an international laughingstock.

I then commented on the fact that W. has spent more than any Prez in the history of this nation and the cashier pops up with "That's Clinton's fault." I threw back with the fact that Clinton left our country with a surplus. I also said, "that's what's wrong with you guys, It's always someone else's fault." They had no answer for this.

Then they started talking about how they were afraid of who would win in 2008. They started talking about Hillary. I said that if you are so concerned about Hillary becoming Prez then you should have sent W. packing. The fact that W. is Prez is making it able for her to be President.  If W. had lost the election, then Hillary's chances would be reduced.

Brown screwed up in FL also.

Thu Sep 08, 2005 at 11:10:17 AM PDT

Apparently, the illustrious  and incompetent FEMA director Brown was screwing up in FL last year:

Brown, a patronage appointee with no previous disaster management experience, embarrassed himself last year with his attempts to justify FEMA's waste of more than $31 million in hurricane relief give to areas not affected by a hurricane.

Can you believe this? Last year in FL he didn't know where the hurricane hit either? Were supposed to trust these jokers to protect us from a terrorist attack?

Bush poll numbers worsening on Katrina

Tue Sep 06, 2005 at 05:44:10 PM PDT

New SUS poll out today has the following information:

Respondents were asked whether the Bush Administration was doing not enough, the right amount or too much to help the victims of Katrina.

Not enough 60%
Right amount 34%
not sure 2%
too much 5%

MOE 2.8%

I would say that the 34% is probably Bush's base which may be cracking somewhat.

The 5% who think they are doing too much are probably the men in sheets.

Interesting thing happening here in GA regarding the comments coming from politicos. The Dem's are saying the response from FEMA was bad because of racism and the GOP saying it's because of LA being in the south. Well, this is a new one. Now the GOP hates the south!

Al Gore, American Hero

Sat Sep 03, 2005 at 09:50:31 AM PDT

CNN is reporting that Al Gore has chartered and American Airlines plane using his own money. He is loading up over one hundred of the sick and infirm from New Orleans and is taking them to a hospital.

Sorry for the short diary but I thought this was important to get out there. I didn't see it on the diary list. If it is, I will delete it.

Bush must be removed from Office.

Fri Sep 02, 2005 at 10:00:17 AM PDT

There is no other way to put it. It's with a heavy heart that I have decided that George W. Bush must be removed from office. Along with W., the other incompetents must be removed also.

Bush has made poor decision after poor decision. These poor decisions have cost thousands of Americans their lives. There is no other way to put it. How many more Americans will lose their lives because of his incompetence? We just can't sit around and twiddle our thumbs hoping. We as citizens must take a stand.

I hate NCLB!!!!!!!!!

Thu Jun 02, 2005 at 07:27:23 PM PDT

I hate NCLB with a stinkin' purple passion!

I have a child with a learning disability. He has to take this stupid test and of course he doesn't pass the part where he is learning disabled. So I now have to make him take the stupid test again which he is unlikely to do any better on. If he doesn't pass it the second time I have to go before the republican politiburo to get him passed simply because he has a LEARNING DISABILITY!!!!!!

NCLB rewards stupidity and punishes hard work!!!!!!

Did I say how much I hate this stupid act?

I did it!! I won!!!

Fri Oct 01, 2004 at 11:33:33 AM PDT

My husband has been a political source of frustration for me. He listens to talk radio and absorbs some of their stupid talking points. He mostly votes for Republicans.

Last night we watched the debate. I asked him who won. He said "They are both good debaters." I wanted to scream!

Former NSA Director for Reagan calls Bush's terror policy "sustained hysteria"-in other words there is no policy. But we all knew that didn't we?
